Removal of Playground Structure at EJ Roberts Park

The City of North Bend recently inspected the playground structure at EJ Roberts Park and determined it has deteriorated to a point that it’s no longer safe for the general public and must be removed.

The playground structure was originally scheduled to be replaced in 2020 according to the Parks Capital Facilities Plan. However, the City is proposing to expedite replacement and is currently in the process of gathering various playground equipment options. These options will be presented during the July 26 and August 23, 2017 Parks Commission meetings to obtain a recommendation from the Parks Commission.

Citizens are welcome to attend the Parks Commission meetings where this topic will be discussed and provide input on the choices presented. The meetings are being held at 6:30 p.m. at the City Hall Annex located at 126 E. 4th Street.

The Parks Commission will make their recommendations to the City Council and propose funding in the City’s 2018 Budget. This funding decision will be at the discretion of the City Council.
