Weather Causes Downtown Construction Delay; Road to Re-open Sept. 29

Due to recent weather conditions, construction on North Bend Way from Bendigo Boulevard through Ballarat Avenue is expected to continue through Friday, September 29. This additional three-day closure is necessary to allow the contractor to complete the concrete pours in dry weather, allowing for proper curing to strengthen and enhance the concrete in this high-traffic area.

Downtown businesses will remain open during construction. Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue supporting downtown businesses.

Signage to alternative parking locations are posted in the downtown area. An alternative parking map, construction schedule, design layout, and project FAQ document can be found on the City of North Bend Public Works Department Current Projects Web Page at http://northbendwa.gov/index.aspx?NID=161.

Downtown Plaza Project construction is expected to be completed by the end of November 2017. The project will create an attractive and safe downtown environment to shop, dine and gather. It will feature widened sidewalks, pedestrian amenities, and traffic-calming measures to improve safety and mobility for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicular traffic.

If you have questions about the project, or would like to be added to the project email listserv for occasional email updates, please email downtownplaza@northbendwa.gov or call the North Bend Public Works Department at 425-888-0486.
