Road Closure Planned on Stilson/432nd Avenue SE for Sewer Main Extension

Dear Affected City of North Bend and Unincorporated King County Residents:

If you live on or near Stilson Avenue SE, the City of North Bend thanks you for your patience during the past 6 months during site infrastructure construction of the Quadrant Cedar Landing Phases 1 & 3.

The construction of sanitary sewer gravity and force main from the Cedar Landing development to the existing sewer manhole located approximately 200’ south of SE Cedar Falls Way will continue through January 2. Due to the location of the proposed sewer near the road centerline, full road closure will be required for this construction to safely occur. Because of the holiday season we understand that this timeframe may be inconvenient, however, it was specifically chosen to coincide with Snoqualmie Valley School District’s winter break to ensure safety of the school children and school operations.

This letter’s second purpose is to inform you how the phasing of the construction and detours will work. Phase I, gravity sewer construction north of SE 134th St, will occur between approximately December 21st-December 27th (no work will occur during the 23rd-25th) and Phase II, south of SE 134th St, between December 28th-January 2nd. During Phase I, residents located south of SE 134th St will be detoured to either 436th St via SE 134th St or Maloney Grove Ave SE via SE 140th St (see attached detour map). Signage will also be provided along SE Cedar Falls Way and SE 436th St. Residents living along the effected work zone will be provided access to and from their homes by flaggers during working hours. During evening and weekend hours, steel plates will be placed on the roadway and the road closure barricades removed. During Phase II, residents living south of the development will be detoured to SE Cedar Falls Way via SE 140th St and Maloney Grove Ave. SE. Residents living along Stilson (south of the development), SE 140th St and Maloney Grove Ave. SE wishing to access Exit 32 or return home will need to utilize Maloney Grove Ave and SE Cedar Falls Way since no access to SE 134th St will be provided. Residents located within the effected work zone will be provided flaggers to access their homes during working hours and steel plates or appropriate patching/detour route during evenings and weekends.
