Now in its second year, this free, eight-week interactive course is designed to provide an in-depth look into how your local municipal government operates, guiding participants through administration and city history, legal, public records and information, finance, fire, police, public works and infrastructure, parks, and community and economic development.

Citizens Academy participants:

  • Learn more about the City of North Bend government operations and services
  • Participate in dialogues with City leaders, City staff, and other civic-minded residents
  • See taxpayers’ investments at work
  • Learn about opportunities to become more involved in your local government

Citizens Academy Schedule

Courses run from February 5 through April 1, with a break the week of February 19 and March 11. On April 8, graduates will meet with the Council and Mayor Elect Miller to receive their certificates of graduation.
