North Bend appoints Luke Duvall as new Parks Commission Youth Member

Luke

At the October 6th City Council meeting, Mayor Rob McFarland appointed Luke Duvall to serve as the new youth member of the North Bend Parks Commission. He was selected based on his enthusiasm for community volunteerism and his passion for recreation and the outdoors.

Luke is a junior at Mount Si High School and served on the Executive Board of the school’s Green Team, helping coordinate local ecological restoration work groups at the Kimball Slough across from the school.

He is also a Youth Ocean Activist, logging 100+ volunteer hours at the Seattle Aquarium; a peer tutor at Twin Falls Middle School; and a volunteer for Cascade Covenant Church’s ‘Reststop’ program.

In his spare time, Luke loves skateboarding, rock climbing and holds down a part-time job at ProSki in downtown North Bend.

Luke has lived in North Bend his entire life and says he cares deeply about the preservation, restoration and beautification of the City.

The City of North Bend is excited to welcome Luke to the Parks Commission and looks forward to his input on future projects.
