At the October 13, 2020, Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Risk Management Service Agency (RMSA) Annual Meeting, RMSA recognized the risk management efforts of its members that contributed to an improvement in their liability loss experience this past year – including the City of North Bend.
North Bend was featured during the meeting, receiving a 2020 Safety Award in the Most Improved Liability Claims Experience category, recognized for its quality risk management work.
“The daily operations of running a municipal entity are complex, but actively managing risk helps keep municipalities running effectively, efficiently and promotes stronger, more resilient communities,” said AWC RMSA Program Manager Harlan Stientjes. “AWC RMSA commends the City of North Bend for its dedication to good risk management practices by recognizing it as one of this year’s Safety Award winners.“
RMSA members share in the costs of coverage and losses – so the efforts of any member to prevent or reduce risk affects the cost of risk for all members. Risk reduction and proactive risk management benefit the entire membership by keeping loss experience low, positively impacting costs and attracting more favorable insuring partners.
The AWC Risk Management Service Agency (RMSA) is a municipal risk pool protecting the employees, assets and officials of 102 of Washington’s cities, towns and special purpose districts from property and liability risks and cost.
