The Northwest Railway Museum announced last week that scenic winter, socially distanced train rides through the upper Snoqualmie Valley will begin on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
This is the first time in the Museum’s history that visitors can take the historic railway excursion along the Museum’s 5.5 miles of track during the winter months of January – March, and includes departures from downtown North Bend.
The winter ride still includes the popular scenic view from the top of Snoqualmie Falls where riders can enjoy the iconic view of the river valley below.
To ensure a safe experience, all visitors 2 years of age and older are asked to wear masks, and pursuant to state law, masks are required for all visitors 5 years and older. The Northwest Railway Museum has also limited train capacity, socially distanced seating and performs frequent cleanings.
North Bend Mayor Rob McFarland commented, "This is good news. These winter train rides - with important Covid safety precautions in place - will not only help our nonprofit museum, but also provide a boost to our downtown businesses during slower winter months."
Winter train rides will be available on Saturdays from January 16th – March 27th (weather permitting). Passengers can choose to begin their ride at either the North Bend Depot (205 E McClellan Street, North Bend, WA 98045) or at the Snoqualmie Depot (38625 SE King Street, Snoqualmie WA 98065).
Multiple North Bend departure times give riders the opportunity to visit local shops and enjoy other downtown amenities. The train departs from the North Bend Depot at 10:30AM, 12:00PM, and 1:30PM. Snoqualmie Depot departures are at 11:00AM, 12:30PM, and 2:00PM.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Ticket prices: Adults $20.00, Children (ages 2-12) $10.00, Seniors (62+) $16.00. For more information or to order tickets, go to: TrainMuseum.org.
