The City of North Bend was notified this afternoon that training happening today, April 7th, at the Washington State Fire Training Academy (FTA) - located on the eastern edge of North Bend - is producing extreme smoke.
A Fire Training Academy spokesperson said there are two fire training sessions at the FTA today and although the morning session is complete, more smoke is possible during the the afternoon session. Depending on wind direction, North Bend area residents may notice smoke resulting from training activity.
The Washington State Fire Training Academy protects the citizens of Washington through training, collaboration and support of the fire service and other public safety professionals. It is located off I-90 exit 38 on SE Grouse Ridge Road.
