Monday, October 11, 2021, the City of North Bend acknowledges and commemorates Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Since the time immemorial, the Snoqualmie Tribal People have lived, traveled, shaped and cared for the land and waterways of the Snoqualmie Valley.
To this day, tribal members continue their stewardship and efforts to protect our Snoqualmie Valley landscape.
Mayor Rob McFarland commented, “The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe’s dedication to our Snoqualmie Valley environment is something we all should acknowledge, celebrate and strive toward. I encourage North Bend community members to educate themselves on the vital history of the Snoqualmie Tribal People and their connection to this Valley we share.”
