Light up North Bend Holiday Lighting Contest Returns for Second Year

The City of North Bend invites residents and businesses to make the City shine bright this holiday season as the 2nd Annual Light up North Bend holiday lighting contest returns.

Launched in 2020 when holiday traditions were limited by the pandemic, Light up North Bend proved to be such a popular event that the City is bringing it back for 2021.

Last year 27 homes and businesses decked their homes out for the community to admire – so let’s top that number this year North Bend.

Enter the City’s 2nd annual lighting contest: LIGHT UP NORTH BEND – A HOLIDAY SPIRIT CONTEST.

There are 4 Divisions: Single-family home; Multi-family home (apartment, condo, townhome); Business; Neighborhood. There are 3 categories within the Single-family, Multi-family and Business Divisions:

  • VMA: Best Use of Music
  • Hollywood: Best Theme
  • Griswold: Best Overuse of Lights (channel your inner Clark)

The Neighborhood Division winner will be chosen based on the largest number of homes decked out for the season.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, December 8th. Participating homes and businesses must be decorated and ready by December 10th at 5PM. Judging will occur December 10 – 12 with the help of members of the North Bend Downtown Foundation.

Register using this fillable PDF Light up North Bend registration form. Participants can email the form to dmccall@northbendwa.gov or deliver to the City Hall Front Counter during business hours listed on the form.

Did we mention prizes? We wouldn’t forget that part. The Neighborhood division winner will get bragging rights and the winners of each category in the Single-Family, Multi-Family and Business Divisions will receive a $50 gift card to the North Bend business of their choosing.

Just like last year, the holiday fun won’t end once the winners are announced. After the judging is complete, we will create a map for community distribution so that residents can do a Light Up North Bend Holiday Spirit Tour to see all the twinkling, decorated homes that participated.
