Snowstorm Recovery Update: January 5th

Good afternoon North Bend residents. As we continue to recover from multiple snowstorms over the past 10 days, we wanted to provide an update on snow removal efforts and garbage/recycling collections.

Here are some updates for you as of 2:30PM, January 5th:

  • Road conditions on I-90 (from North Bend to Seattle), SR-202, and primary City arterials are drivable and in good condition. Most of the City’s neighborhood collector streets which are Snowplow Priority 1 and 2 are drivable and in good condition.
  • Priority Route 2 and 3 routes continue to be snowplowed. Some streets are in better shape than others. Please continue to drive carefully in areas where there is ice or packed snow.
  • The City continues to have 4 snowplows and 1 backhoe operating last night and today.
  • The City continues to apply sand and salt at intersections and sharper road curves.
  • Solid waste drop-off at Torguson Park for the past 2 days as coordinated by the City of North Bend and Republic has been a success. Many garbage trucks have rotated through as residents continue to utilize this option.
  • It’s still unknown when Republic will be able to pick up garbage and recycling from all properties. They are servicing some that can be accessed on the pick-up days. Republic is closely evaluating road conditions in North Bend each morning.
  • It is anticipated that Torguson Park will serve as a garbage and recycling drop-off location again on Thursday, January 6th from 9AM to 3PM. This is subject to change so please monitor the City website and Facebook page for an early morning update on January 6th.
  • Please continue to park your vehicle in your driveway or garage if possible to allow snowplow access on your street
  • If you are able, please shovel the sidewalks in front of your properties.
  • Please continue to yield to City snowplows.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued patience as the upper Snoqualmie Valley recovers from this winter weather event that dropped approximately 26 inches of snow in North Bend.
