Snowstorm Recovery Update, Jan. 6th: Help Clear Storm Drains to Prevent Localized Flooding

snow storm drain

Due to the melt of significant accumulated snow around the City, and now heavy rain, many roads in the City are at risk of ponding and possible localized flooding.

To help mitigate the risk of local flooding, the City ask residents to clear storm drains of snow, when and if possible.

The City has created an interactive storm drain/catch basic map to help residents locate basins in accumulated snow. The map does not differentiate between uncovered and covered catch basins as that information was not readily available at the time of map creation. Locations are approximate.

Residents may type in their specific address into the text box in the upper left corner to zoom to their address. You can also swap out base maps to see different aerials. It is recommended to switch base map to "Imagery Hybrid" for optimal viewing.

Additionally, as snow melts and heavy rain continues, it is strongly advised that drivers use caution on local roadways as ponding can increase the risk of vehicle hydroplaning.

The City thanks residents for their help and patience as we continue to recover from this extended and unusual winter weather event.
