City to Host Garbage Drop-off Event at Torguson Park, Saturday, January 15th

The City of North Bend will host another Garbage Drop-off event at Torguson Park from 9am to 3pm, Saturday, January 15, 2022, to assist residents impacted by collection delays due to snowstorms and more recently, a temporary work stoppage led by out of state union members at local Republic Services facilities.

As with previous drop-off events at the park, the event is for North Bend residents and only bagged garbage is allowed. We cannot accept recycling at this time. If demand is high, the event may close early.

“We know this latest unexpected work stoppage, which follows weeks of weather-related delays, has caused a big hardship for our residents,” said Communications Manager Danna McCall. “We know there are many residents who could not make it to the previous drop-off events due to their work schedules, so we hope this Saturday event is helpful.”

The City is carefully monitoring this work stoppage, and is in constant contact with Republic Services representatives. The City’s and Republic’s number one priority is to resume curbside collections as soon as possible.  The City is also in discussions with Republic about reimbursements and billing discounts in light of the on-going disruptions.

Please monitor the City website and social media channels this week for more updates about garbage and recycling collections.

The City thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
