Habitat for Humanity’s Taylor Town Provides Volunteering Opportunities

Trestles for Habitat for Humanity, 3.2.22

Interest, enthusiasm, commitment, and compassion: Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King and Kittitas Counties are looking for volunteers with qualities such as these to help at their new building site in North Bend.

Located at 250 E 2nd Street, Habitat for Humanity is inviting volunteers to join in the community work of building Taylor Town, an affordable housing community, which, when complete, will consist of seven townhomes, each with approximately 1,250 sq. feet, three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.

Habitat for Humanity welcomes individuals and organizations with all skill levels and interest to join in on the build. Volunteers aged 16 and over are invited. Tools, safety gear and training is provided onsite. To apply, create a volunteer account at Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer portal. Visit the website HERE. Corporate Relations Manager, Alex Wyatt, is available to answer other volunteer-related inquiries, at

Councilmember Miller commented, “Affordable housing options are an essential component of a healthy, resilient community, and North Bend is full of residents who care. Let’s don the hardhats and get to work,” she said.

Habitat for Humanity representatives, along with North Bend residents and elected State and City officials, first launched Taylor Town on September 28, 2021.

The new community is named in honor of the property’s former owner, George Krsak, who donated the property to Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Krsak was a masonry and brick layer who lived in the Spokane suburb of Taylor before relocating to North Bend.
