Arbor Day Foundation Recognizes North Bend as a Tree City USA

As North Bend passes its 11th consecutive year of being awarded Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, Mike McCarty, AICP, Senior Planner, shared “Trees form a critical component of North Bend’s character and identity.  We are honored to once again be recognized as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.” The City’s work in preserving trees and taking care of natural resources is twofold, he said. “We continue to plan in and work for a growing valley, while also implementing thoughtful policies that nurture and protect our trees, an asset our community deeply values.”

Update on Republic Services

The City’s current contract with Republic will end on March 31st, 2024. Now nearing the tail end of its nine-year agreement, the City is in the beginning stages of procuring a new solid waste collection contract. On March 1st, City Council unanimously approved Motion AB22-024, authorizing staff to work with consultant, Epicenter Services, to begin a competitive bidding process for the new solid waste contract. 

Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Take Back Unwanted Prescription Drugs

On Saturday, April 30th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Department and the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 21st opportunity in nine years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. 

North Bend Beautification Days, April 22 and 23

In honor of Earth Day, the City invites community members to join us for our second North Bend Beautification Days on April 22nd and 23rd

North Bend Yard Waste Recycling Program Begins April 23rd 

The 2022 North Bend Yard Waste Recycling program begins April 23rd. This annual recycling program is open to North Bend residents and property owners on select Saturdays, April through October, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the North Bend Public Works building, 1155 E. North Bend Way.

License Your Cat or Dog, Renew an Expired License, And Late Fees Will Be Waived

License your cat or dog, renew an expired license, and your late fees will be waived! Now through June 30th, courtesy of Regional Animal Services of King County. Pet licensing helps locate lost pets at a faster rate, and it also helps fund the care and adoption of shelter animals.
