Park Street Overlay Project Begins April 22, Road Closure Expected

On Friday, April 22nd, Hos Brothers will be performing a pavement overlay on Park Street adjacent to the Cade Vu Townhomes project.  Work includes grinding asphalt and re-paving in the eastbound travel lane.  Park Street’s eastbound lane will be closed from 8 a.m. to approximately noon on Friday.

Temporary road closure will occur on Park Street from the NBW / Park Street roundabout to Healy Avenue South / Park Street intersection.   Special accommodations will be made for local access, for residents who live on Park Street between those two intersections. Drivers can expect to see clearly displayed detour signage in the area.  Westbound travel will continue on Park Street during this time.

Once the temporary eastbound Park Street closure ends on Friday, drivers can expect minor delays with rough road conditions for approximately one week from April 22nd through April 29th.  Residents and businesses within the immediate project vicinity should anticipate noise and vibration during construction.

This will happen a second time in early May, but this time in the westbound direction. Paving is scheduled to occur during the first week of May, 2022, with a similar detour route and signage.  All aspects of this work are weather dependent and subject to schedule changes. Once the exact date is known, it will be shared with the public.

The purpose of the grinding and pavement overlay is to create a smooth roadway surface following all of the pavement trenching for utility connections that have occurred during the past year of construction.

The City appreciates residents’ and business owners’ patience and understanding.
