Happy Labor Day Weekend! City offices will be closed September 5th to observe the federal Labor Day holiday. Normal hours/operations will resume Tuesday, September 6th.

East North Bend Water Update: Want to learn more? The City listens to community members’ inquiries and concerns, and our East North Bend Water Update webpage is a great way to keep you posted with answers. Updates have been added this week to the Water FAQ page with information you may find helpful. New FAQs have been labeled with “NEW FAQ” to make it easy to find them. Stay up to date on this topic by signing up for “Notify Me” and receive news alerts from the City of North Bend.

Mayor Proclaims September Senior Center Month in North Bend: Mayor McFarland encourages everyone to recognize the special contributions of Mt. Si Senior Center participants and all the efforts of staff and volunteers who work every day to enhance the wellbeing of the older citizens of our community. Reminder: Business Licenses and Badges Required for Door-to-Door Solicitors: The City of North Bend requires all those engaged in business within the city limits to obtain a City of North Bend business license.  Additionally, a Solicitor’s License is required for those engaged in the door-to-door sales of for-profit items and any person engaged in such activity is required to wear a photo identification badge issued by the City upon their person in a visible location at all times (North Bend Municipal Code Chapter 5.16). 

Seeking Input: 2022 City Parks Survey: The City of North Bend invites residents to help plan for future park and trail improvements! The invitation is part of the early stages of commencing an update to the Parks Element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and will help plan for park and trail improvements that best reflect the needs and desires of residents. Responses are due by October 1st. Free, Year-long Public Transportation for Youth: As of September 1st, Snoqualmie Valley Transportation (SVT) now offers free, year-round transportation for youth ages 18 and under. SVT joins King County Metro Transit in offering this program.

It’s Pavement Crack Sealing Time: Public Works crews were out early on Wednesday, at 1 a.m. sealing cracks along North Bend Way. Early morning work like this helps keep busy streets clear when drivers need it most. You may have seen crews out and about this week as they wrap up other crack sealing operations throughout town. Crack sealing is a proven, cost-effective form of maintenance that helps extend the lifespan of paved roads.

Sip Suds and Si is BACK, September10th: The North Bend Downtown Foundation (NBDF) is once again partnering with wineries, breweries, artists, and musicians to bring you Sip Suds and Si on Saturday, September 10th, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sip Suds and Si is an art walk with live music, wine and beer tasting throughout Downtown North Bend.

Free Shred-it Event, September 10th: On Saturday, September 10th, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. residents can bring unwanted      documents to North Bend City Hall for safe and secure shredding. The Shred-It event is open to all North Bend residents. 

A Special Labor Day Train Ride: The Northwest Railway Museum invites you to join on a special historic train ride Monday, September 5th in honor of Labor Day. Learn more HERE. While you're visiting, enjoy the North Bend Train Depot's beautiful new roof, completed in large part this year by a Washington State Department of Commerce grant!

Transportation Element Public Hearing Notice: A public hearing on the City of North Bend’s proposed draft updated Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan will be held during the regular Planning Commission meeting, located at the North Bend City Hall, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 8th. In addition to in-person, the meeting and hearing will be available online via Zoom. View the notice HERE.
