The City of North Bend will be proclaiming Saturday, November 12, 2022 as Arbor Day and invites its citizens to a community tree planting event beginning at 10 a.m. along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, across from the Snoqualmie Valley Trail at Southeast Tanner Road.
Join Mayor Rob McFarland, City Staff, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust staff, and community volunteers to plant native trees and shrubs to help restore a healthy forested canopy along the river and beautify the City. This site is a segment of previous roadway on Southeast Tanner Road at its intersection of Southeast North Bend Way, following an intersection realignment project. The City has removed the previous roadbed and added soils to enable restoration of this area to riparian forest.
To access the site, park at the gravel parking area at the Snoqualmie Valley Trail junction on the south side of SE North Bend Way. Cross SE North Bend Way to the planting site. Signs will direct you to the event. Tools and gloves will be provided. Volunteers should dress appropriately and bring their own water and snacks if desired.
Spots will be limited so please register in advance. To register, and for more information, please visit: City of North Bend Arbor Day 2022 - Mountains To Sound Greenway Trust (mtsgreenway.org)
