The month of November has been proclaimed Flood Awareness Month in North Bend by Mayor Rob McFarland. North Bend has had numerous flood events of different magnitudes. The City recognizes that major flooding from heavy rains and snowmelt increases the risk to human lives, disrupts public services, and significantly damages public and private property. The North Bend Public Works Department oversees a nationally recognized floodplain management program that helps reduce damages and the cost of flood insurance policies for local citizens.
Mayor McFarland invites all residents, especially those living in flood-prone areas, to join him in learning preventative steps and preparedness techniques that can preserve your home and the lives of those you love.
