As the weather warms up, so does construction season. Interstate 90 (I-90) between North Bend and Vantage will receive multiple roadway improvement projects that will affect the flow of traffic this spring and summer.
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews will be working on the following projects between North Bend and Vantage:
- I-90 Homestead Valley Road to Coal Creek: Bridge Deck Rehabilitation begins this summer and will continue through 2025. Drivers can expect daytime traffic shifts and lane restrictions in both directions through multiple areas between North Bend and Hyak.
- I-90 Cabin Creek Interchange to West Easton Phase 3: The rebuilding of roadway, bridges, and the addition of lanes will resume this summer, and will continue through 2028. Drivers can expect two lanes of traffic open during the day, with one lane open in each direction at night. In addition, expect full one-hour closures an hour before sunset several times a week for rock blasting between June and October.
- I-90 S. Cle Elum Road Bridges: Bridge deck repair will resume this summer for multiple bridges and will continue through 2025. Drivers can expect single-lane closures, rolling slow-downs, and intermittent single-lane closures at night in both directions. Two lanes of traffic will be open for the duration of the project.
