Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) Executive Director Josh Brown presented a Vision 2050 Award to Snoqualmie Valley Transportation (SVT), Mt. Si Senior Center, and the cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie at the July 18, 2023 North Bend City Council meeting.
Vision 2050 Awards celebrate progress in enhancing the region’s communities and natural environment while advancing equity and opportunity. SVT, Mt. Si Senior Center, and the cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie were awarded in the “Working Together” category. They were honored for promoting a livable region by helping to implement Vision 2050, the regional growth management, economic and transportation strategy.
“Snoqualmie Valley Transportation advances Vision 2050 by providing mobility here in the Valley,” Josh commented. “I know this has very much been a strong collaboration between the City of North Bend, the City of Snoqualmie, and the Mt. Si Senior Center. You’re an inspiration to the entire region and I think you’re going about providing transit service in a unique, flexible way, and thinking outside the box in a manner that we need to be able to serve an entire, diverse region.”
As a regional planning agency for King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, Josh expressed appreciation on behalf of PSRC, noting the organization’s work with North Bend and the valuable partnerships PSRC and the City has formed over the years, particularly around transportation.
