On June 27, 2023, Snoqualmie/North Bend Police Chief Perry Phipps submitted his resignation, effective July 3, 2023.

Phipps joined the Snoqualmie/North Bend Police Department in 2017 following three decades of law enforcement service in California. Under his leadership the department grew its commitment to community policing, enforcing its longstanding motto, ‘no call too small.’ Phipps was also instrumental in launching the Behavioral Health Response program, hiring the department’s first Mental Health Officer who responds alongside police officers and firefighters on calls involving those in crisis.

“I want to thank Chief Phipps for his years of service and dedication to our North Bend community,” said Mayor Rob McFarland.

It is the intention of Snoqualmie Mayor Katherine Ross to appoint Snoqualmie/North Bend Police Captain Brian Lynch to serve as Interim Police Chief, pending confirmation by the Snoqualmie City Council at its July 10 meeting.

“I will always cherish my time in this beautiful community and will truly miss the amazing people that work at the Police Department who serve this community without fail,” said Chief Phipps.
