Overnight closures on SR 18 begin September 11

Traffic Alert Infographic, Nightly SR 18 Closures, 09.11.23

As reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation, crews will begin a crack and seal pavement repair project on State Route 18 beginning Monday, September 11 between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Nightly work will continue Mondays through Thursdays until it is completed. The crack sealing project is expected to wrap up by Wednesday, September 20, but the work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.

During the nightly westbound SR 18 closures, only local access traffic will be permitted south of the eastbound Interstate 90 off-ramp. Signed detours will be available for people traveling on eastbound and westbound SR 18 when those directions are closed, but plan for extra travel time.

SR 18 detours

  • Eastbound SR 18: Follow Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast north to Front Street in Issaquah and use the on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 90.
  • Westbound SR 18: Follow I-90 westbound to the Front Street exit in Issaquah and head south to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast and SR 18.

People traveling in the area also should expect nightly work that is part of the I-90/SR 18 Intersection Improvements project. Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays, flaggers will alternate SR 18 traffic just south of I-90.
