On Monday, September 25, Lakeside Industries will begin a pavement grind and overlay project on a portion of North Bend Way, from the west end of the Ribary Creek Bridge to the intersection of Meadowbrook Way SE and North Bend Way.
The project will take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Lane shifts will occur on North Bend Way, with the intention of ensuring the safety of both the Lakeside crew and the public. Special accommodations will be made for residents who live in the immediate vicinity of this section of North Bend Way.
Drivers can expect rough road conditions throughout the duration of the project. Businesses and residents should anticipate intermittent noise and vibration as well.
The North Bend Way Pavement Overlay Project will extend the life of our roadway, in addition to creating a smooth surface and a safer, more efficient travel experience. In the fall of 2022, the North Bend City Council approved Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) funds in preparation for this necessary infrastructure improvement project, and in July, Council approved the updated cost estimate form and local match funding.
The project is expected to take approximately two weeks, reaching completion by October 6, though schedules are subject to changing weather conditions. The City appreciates residents’ and business owners’ patience and understanding as work begins on this necessary pavement preservation project.
The City will be working closely with King County and Lakeside to provide updates. Questions can be emailed to Deputy Public Works Director Tom Mohr at tmohr@northbendwa.gov.
