As of November 7, 2023, the City is moving its Water Conservation Ordinance (WCO) from Stage 3 to Stage 1.
The WCO was in Stage 3 from September 5 through November 6, 2023. The City thanks you for your efforts to reduce water consumption since August 8, 2023, which was the date that the WCO Stage 1 began.
This year was an especially hot and dry spring for our watershed, and it was followed by a drought summer. While river flows continue to be lower than usual for this time of year, recent rainfall has increased future flows within Snoqualmie River’s and Skykomish River’s watersheds’ wetlands, streams and rivers. The City is required by the Department of Ecology to monitor the flows out of the Skykomish River watershed, too.
Due to current weather forecasts, the City anticipates the WCO to end by November 17, 2023. The City will continue to monitor the state of our watershed and provide community updates.
