After a second round of interviews and an Executive Session, the North Bend City Council appointed candidate Errol Tremolada to fill the vacated City Council Position No. 4 at the November 21, 2023 City Council meeting.
The Council interviewed five qualified applicants in open session at the November 14 Special City Council meeting, selecting Errol Tremolada and Sam White to continue the interview process.
Mr. Tremolada was sworn in by Mayor McFarland. “I appreciate every person who put themself forward. [It was] a very difficult conversation, trying to land on the choice,” Mayor McFarland said. Noting the impact the North Bend Citizens Academy program had on Mr. White and Councilmember Tremolada, he encouraged those who are considering applying for the 2024 course to watch for the application this winter, adding, “Not only did these two finalists both [attend the Citizens Academy] but others were a part of that. Your new schoolboard member was a part of the Citizens Academy. It’s the best thing we’ve done here at the City in that regard, opening up and getting folks engaged, learning about their government.”
Councilmembers congratulated Councilmember Tremolada, and thanked Sam White, Sheraz Malik, James McEachran, and Terry Pottmeyer for their work in applying for this position. “Thank you, Errol, for stepping up in the process – welcome,” current Councilmember and Mayor Elect Miller said. “Thank you [to] all the other candidates who were here last week,” she continued, and encouraged Mr. White to explore joining a commission, another valuable way to serve the North Bend community.
Councilmember Tremolada is an active father of three, serving on the Snoqualmie Valley Little League Board of Directors, and volunteering with various other youth sports organizations. He has 18 years in commercial real estate leasing, sales, and development experience. After attending the North Bend Citizens Academy in 2023, Councilmember Tremolada applied for and was selected by Mayor McFarland as a Planning Commissioner, filling Position No. 6. He also ran for Council Position No. 1 in the 2023 General Election.
Councilmember Tremolada will serve Position No. 4 until certification of the 2025 General Election in November 2025.
