Mayor Proclaims January as National Mentoring Month in North Bend

National Mentoring Month Proclamation

Mayor Mary Miller is proud to proclaim January as National Mentoring Month in North Bend. The mayor encourages those interested in becoming a youth mentor to contact Empower Youth Network, and be sure to thank current youth mentors for devoting their time and effort to ensure the success of our youth.

Here are a few ways you can support mentoring programs in Snoqualmie Valley:

  • Join a mentoring program, such as Youth Success Mentoring, offered by the Empower Youth Network.
  • Keep an eye out for mentoring programs that showcase career exploration and support workplace skills by helping young people set career goals.
  • Once you join a mentoring program, show up! Youth who meet regularly with their mentors are 46 percent less likely than their peers to start using drugs and 27 percent less likely to start drinking.
