North Bend celebrated four councilmembers – two newly elected and two reelected – at the January 2, 2024, City Council meeting.
Mayor Miller administered ceremonial Oaths of Office to Christina Rustik and Suzan Torguson, along with returning councilmembers Heather Koellen and Brenden Elwood. Afterward, the meeting was paused for a 10-minute break, where citizens and councilmembers had the opportunity to connect with one another.
Following the Introductions, existing, reelected, and new councilmembers spoke, thanking the community and city staff, and expressing gratitude and excitement to serve. “It’s an honor and a privilege to serve the North Bend community,” Councilmember Torguson said. “I look forward to collaborating with Mayor Mary Miller, my fellow councilmembers, and the city staff.”
Councilmember Rustik said, “I’m very excited to be able to join the Council.” She thanked the city staff for preparatory meetings as well.
