Contractor Hits Gas Line on SE 140th Street; Repairs Underway

Gas main workers

Puget Sound Energy was called to repair a gas line around 9:30 a.m. today after a contractor for the Tanner Electric headquarters project hit a 4-inch diameter gas main. One lane of SE 140th Street is closed near the Wood River neighborhood for repairs, which are expected to take several hours to complete.

PSE clamped the line and isolated the leak and does not believe the public is in any danger. Eastside Fire and Rescue and Snoqualmie Police Department were called to the scene to ensure public safety and reroute traffic.

Residents in the Wood River neighborhood are advised to use the Eastern access during repairs.
