North Bend Names 2018 Employee of the Year and Recognizes Additional Staff

Lynn Hyde - Employee of the Year

City of North Bend named its 2018 Employee of the Year during the annual employee luncheon on December 6th

This year’s recipient is, Economic Development Manager and Planner, Lynn Hyde. She has received nominations in the past but received so many this year that it made the choice easy.  Lynn has a positive and can-do attitude and always goes the extra mile to help any staff member when they need help. She embraces all that epitomizes what citizens love about this community, friendliness, neighborly caring and commitment to making North Bend the best it can be.

Her passion for the community is unparalleled. She has pursued many grants for the City and won several hundreds of thousands of dollars for City projects. She has played an integral role in helping revitalize downtown and working with business owners to improve their buildings. 

She also chairs the Economic Development Commission, where she was instrumental in launching the brand implementation guidelines. Other projects include managing the Visitors website project and organizing and coordinating many of the City’s events. 

Lynn is positive, energetic and eager to assist anyone who may need help.

“This award is very well deserved,” Mayor Hearing said. “We thank you for your outstanding service and commitment to our staff and the citizens of North Bend.”    

Another employee received several nominations from co-workers and Mayor Hearing said he felt this person deserves special recognition.

This employee is Deputy Public Works Director, Tom Mohr. According to his co-workers, he displays outstanding customer service and an impressive capacity for taking on projects and managing operations. He played an integral role in completing the 12th Street improvements, assisting with private development field construction issues, and managing the City Hall project. 

“Tom has a great attitude, is always smiling, and is easy to work with,” Mayor Hearing said. “He is a truly valuable employee and we are glad to have him as part of the team.”

The Mayor also recognized the Wellness Committee for the work they do all year long in support of staff and the Wellness program and expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of the elected officials to all employees for their hard work and dedication.
