CenturyLink Customers Experiencing Phone and Internet Outages; 911 Systems Affected

This message is sent on behalf of King County.

Progress is being made to restore 9-1-1 service in King County.

 The CenturyLink network outage that affected emergency calls nationwide is being addressed. 

 9-1-1 calls are again getting through.  

 There may still be intermittent issues, so if a 9-1-1 call does not go through, call one of the ten-digit numbers below or use a cell phone to Text-to-911.

King County will work with its partners to assess the impact of the 9-1-1 outage, identify issues, and determine what changes might be made to make the system more robust in the future. Additional information may be available from CenturyLink.

Residents are urged not to “test” the system. Although 9-1-1 calls may get through, please keep the lines open for people who need assistance from first responders. Do not call 9-1-1 unless you are having an emergency.

CenturyLink is experiencing nationwide phone signal and internet outages that is preventing some customers from calling 911. This widespread outage began impacting our area late last night.

CenturyLink provides internet, phone, television, and home-security services to customers across 37 states. Snoqualmie Fire Department Fire Chief, Mark Correira said CenturyLink had a system failure and is currently working to resume service. He said the company was successful in getting part of the system reactivated but they do not yet have an estimated time of full restoration.

Snoqualmie Police are asking residents to please not dial 911 to “test it out.” Updates will be provided on the Snoqualmie Police Department Facebook page and via email to subscribers of 'Notify Me' on City of North Bend website. To subscribe to notification emails, click here: NotifyMe or go to northbendwa.gov and click on the 'Notify Me' button under the home page photo.
