Thousands Without Power Due to Wind; TEC and PSE Working to Restore Downed Lines

Thousands of Tanner Electric Cooperative and Puget Sound Energy customers are experiencing power outages today as a result of the windy weather conditions through the night, according to the Tanner Electric website. Multiple poles and lines were downed in Ames Lake, Anderson Island and North Bend due to the strong winds. The outage is affecting 1,522 TEC customers, including 223 residents in North Bend.

As of 6 a.m., PSE reported that there are approximately 218,000 customers without power. Both TEC and PSE now have crews in the area for debris cleanup and pole repair. Tanner Electric estimates restoration time for power to be late tonight or tomorrow. According to TEC website, “Crews will be working as quickly as they can to get your service up and running again.”

Telephones, internet and cable services are also affected by the storm in many areas as well.

Tanner staff wrote that they want to thank everyone for their support and understanding during situations that are a result of mother nature and are beyond their control.
