Partial Road Closure on West Park Street Rescheduled for Next Week

Utility installation work on West Park Street between Bendigo Boulevard and Main Avenue has been postponed until next week due to safety concerns from high winds. Wilcox Construction will be constructing project storm drainage and side sewer connections into existing city mains located in West Park Street for the Huxdotter Coffee project.

Partial road closure is necessary to safely complete the work. Once the project begins, construction is anticipated to last 2 to 3 days.

During this time, a partial road closure, resulting in one-lane alternating traffic, will be maintained during weekday working hours, but residents should expect delays while work is underway.  This work may be shifted to later in the week or the following week depending on weather and scheduling considerations.

The north Park Street alley access into the Bartell Drugs Complex will be closed due to the location of the utility tie-in. Customers are urged to use the Bendigo Boulevard or Main Avenue access points to these businesses.  Pedestrians may also experience sidewalk detours to either the north or south side of West Park Street depending on the side of the street closure.  Detour signage and traffic flaggers will be present to assist with traffic and pedestrian safety.

Due to the confined work area, the road may be temporarily closed to move construction equipment and materials. The road and alley access will be open during evenings and the weekend with steel plates covering the trenches and work area.

City of North Bend recognizes that construction on this road could be a significant inconvenience to you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mike Sippo at 425-888-7664 or Carrie Smith at 425-888-7651.
