City Replaces Playground Equipment at EJ Roberts Park

EJ Roberts now has new playground equipment to replace the existing deteriorated equipment. In 2017, City staff began working with the City’s Parks Commission to select replacement playground structures for the park.

City Council approved funding the equipment replacement as part of the City’s 2018 budget process. The equipment, including a curving slide, climbing areas, swings, and teeter totters, cost approximately $47,700. The City stayed within budget by removing the Omni Spinner portion of the equipment and having staff install the play chips.

“Councilmembers and I would like to thank our Parks Commission for their valuable input and the many hours they spent on this much-needed project,” Mayor Ken Hearing said. “Thanks to their hard work, along with citizen input and support, community members can enjoy playground equipment at this popular park once again.”

EJ Roberts Park is located at 601 NE 6th Street in North Bend. To learn more about this and other city parks, visit the City’s website at
