The City of North Bend has declared a state of emergency due to severe winter weather that began on February 3rd. The emergency declaration, which has been signed by Mayor Pro-Tem Trevor Kostanich, allows the City to call in additional help and resources if necessary to respond to the severe winter weather we are experiencing. The declaration also allows the City to potentially be eligible for state and federal funding to help the City cover costs associated with its response to the severe winter weather.
On February 8th, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency throughout Washington State because of severe winter weather. The governor’s declaration directs state agencies and departments to utilize state resources and assist cities and counties in an effort to respond to and recover from the winter storm.
