Park Street Roundabout Construction on Target for End of October Completion

RAB sketch

Construction on the Park Street – North Bend Way Roundabout is progressing as planned and on target to be completely operational by the end of October.

The contractor will continue pouring curb and gutter along the south side of North Bend Way along with some of the stamped concrete in the medians through Tuesday, October 1st.  On Wednesday, October 2nd and Thursday October 3rd, the contractor will start paving around some of the new curb work with the first lift of asphalt.

Starting Friday, October 4th, the contractor will begin removal of pavement and grading for phase 3. Phase 3 is for work on the east side of Park Street and another large portion of the roundabout curb.  All work is weather dependent, but the contractor is making good progress and on schedule to have all the curb work and the first lift of asphalt done by the end of October.

As a reminder, businesses along the construction zone will remain open during construction. Residents and visitors are encouraged to support downtown businesses during construction. We also ask drivers to be courteous and patient of others attempting to pull into and out of business driveways. As an alternative, QFC plaza shoppers are encouraged to use the entrance off of Downing Avenue North.

Two lanes will remain open during the construction for traffic flow. When completed, this roundabout will improve public safety and reduce traffic congestion.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact Tom Mohr,  Interim Public Works Director at 425-888-7653 or email
