Snoqualmie Police Chief Perry Phipps proudly recognized two Snoqualmie Police officers who recently received special honors during the March 3rd City Council meeting.
Officer Jayce Gutzler was voted Best Police Officer in 425 Magazine’s 2020 Best of 425 awards. The annual contest lets readers vote in many Eastside categories like theaters, museums, restaurants and more. He will be featured in the May issue of 425.
Gutzler has been with Snoqualmie Police Department for almost two years and in law enforcement for 11 years, including serving on the North Sound Metro SWAT team and the Eastside Narcotics Task Force.
Phipps also recognized Officer Rick Carey, who was honored with the 2019 Air National Guard Non-Commissioned Officer award for his outstanding achievements and leadership in a security force of more than 10,000 citizen-airmen. Carey has served with the SPD for nine years. He also serves in the Air National Guard and was deployed last week to Jordan where he will serve until November.
Officer Carey will return to the Snoqualmie Police Department when the deployment to Jordan finishes.
“I am proud of all of our officers and am especially pleased to recognize these two officers tonight,” Chief Phipps said. “I think it’s pretty impressive for an agency as small as ours to receive these honors.”
