The City recognizes the importance of promoting community engagement around the topic of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), the effect of ACEs and toxic stress on the developing brain, and how resilience building strategies buffer these predicted negative impacts.
Recent Washington State research promotes the beneficial qualities of building community resilience by increasing opportunities for mutual support, hope, healing and more. The City recognizes the importance of coalition work via the Empower Youth Network, Friends of Youth, Encompass, Duvall Police, Fall City Community Association, Riverview School District, Snoqualmie Valley School District, Sound, Hopelink Sno-Valley and other organizations working together toward communities of hope and healing.
