In preparation for Twin Peaks Day this week, Mayor Mary Miller, at the February 20 City Council meeting, proclaimed Saturday, February 24, 2024, as Twin Peaks Day in North Bend.
“Twin Peaks has drawn tourists year-round to North Bend, the Snoqualmie Valley, and the Greater Seattle area for more than 30 years,” she said. Mayor Miller finished her proclamation with a call to all Snoqualmie Valley citizens to join in this celebration “with donuts, cherry pie, and a darn fine cup of coffee.”
Valley resident and Twin Peaks fan, Karl Reinsch, was present to accept the Proclamation. “It was something I started as a way to help encourage local businesses to engage with the fans and encourage tourism,” he said. “I think it has been quite successful.”
February 24 is celebrated by Twin Peaks fans worldwide as the day when the character of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper arrived in the town of Twin Peaks. The television show was created by Mark Frost and David Lynch in 1990.
