Residents know that as a highly livable mountain town, shorelines from the Middle and South Fork Snoqualmie River make up a special part of our community. They are a habitat for local wildlife, they help protect against erosion and filter pollutants, they are a source of breathtaking beauty, and some shorelines double as a place for local summer dips.
Thanks to a fully funded Department of Ecology grant, the City is in the process of developing a Shoreline Master Program (SMP) User Guide that, when complete, will provide improved communication in the area of shoreline jurisdiction, as regulated under NBMC 14.20.
If you are a shoreline property owner, you received a postcard in the mail this month with an invitation to take the SMP User Guide survey but all are welcome to participate.
