[ARCHIVED] An opportunity to join the Planning Commission

The City of North Bend is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission for Position No. 4, term expiring May 18, 2026.

The Commission is an advisory body to the City Council that prepares and recommends coordinated plans, policies, regulations, and restrictions for the physical development of the City. The Commission typically meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. 

NBMC Chapter 2.28 states “Four of the Commissioners shall reside inside the city limits while three may reside inside the 98045 zip code”.  The open position may be filled by anyone who resides either within the city limits, or within the 98045 zip code.

In addition to having a general interest in topics relating to local growth and development, Planning Commissioner candidates would ideally have some experience in a field relating to development, real estate, economic development, land use regulation, or local business administration, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

Anyone interested in serving the Community on this important Commission is urged to submit an application by email to the City Clerk at Clerks@northbendwa.gov or by mail to the City of North Bend, Attn: City Clerk, 920 SE Cedar Falls Way, North Bend, WA 98045. 

The deadline for submission is Friday, August 1, 2025.
