Following two public hearings, the North Bend City Council voted unanimously to approve a resolution adopting the 2026 through 2031 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) on June 17, 2025.
The TIP lays out a short-range, six-year plan for improving and maintaining the city’s multi-modal transportation infrastructure and prioritizes projects by need and availability of funds. All cities, towns, and counties are required to develop and adopt a Six-Year TIP. The City of North Bend reviews and updates its TIP each year following a public hearing, with a goal of City Council adoption by July 1.
A few highlights to anticipate include:
- The State Route (SR) 202 shared-use path and pedestrian bridge over the South Fork Snoqualmie River will incorporate a 200-foot-long city-owned bridge that will provide safer access for pedestrians compared to the existing SR 202 bridge. It will also function as a utility pipe carrier, with a new Meadowbrook sewer line contained directly underneath.
- The Cedar Falls Way Pedestrian Improvements between Maloney Grove Avenue and 436th Avenue SE will increase public safety with a new sidewalk and streetlights.
- The Tanner Trail Phases 2 and 3 will add more trail to the east, parallel to North Bend Way from its current location to connect with the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, resulting in another mile of trail extension.
- The Park Street Corridor Re-channelization will widen and improve the corridor, resulting in enhanced pedestrian safety and additional capacity.
