On April 1, 2024, the City began a new contract for once-a-week garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection with Recology King County for City customers. This transition marks an exciting development in our community's efforts toward sustainable waste management practices.
Recology is an established provider serving 11 cities in the region. The decision to select Recology as the City’s new garbage collection provider follows a rigorous procurement process conducted in 2022 and facilitated by Epicenter Services, where Recology emerged as the preferred choice based on its solid performance in contract compliance, customer service, community outreach, and education.
