A Barrier-Free North Bend: The ADA Transition Plan

North Bend is committed to ensuring that all residents, visitors, and stakeholders have equal access within the public right-of-way. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, we are developing an ADA Transition Plan. This transition plan is a requirement of Title II of the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Universal Accessibility

What is the ADA Transition Plan?

The ADA Transition Plan is a comprehensive document that identifies physical barriers to accessibility within the North Bend public right-of-way, provides detailed descriptions of methods that will be used to make the facilities accessible and develops a schedule to achieve full ADA compliance by removing barriers based on a prioritization analysis.

How you can help

We are looking for your feedback on pedestrian accessibility in North Bend! Here are a few ways you can participate:

  • North Bend has developed a virtual open house to receive your input!
  • Take the survey: The purpose of the survey is to collect information on general priorities as well as provide an online mapper to report specific barriers within our community.

Your Input Matters

Central to the effectiveness of the ADA Transition Plan is its prioritization analysis, which strategically plans for the removal of barriers across the City. By incorporating input from community members and stakeholders, this analysis ensures that future projects align closely with the needs and objectives of the community. Essentially, the more input the City gets from the community, the better the plan will serve the community.
